Hello all! Welcome to my gourmet castle. I am a 18-year-old college student residing in Kingston, Ontario. My original residence is Vancouver, British Columbia but for some odd reason I thought Kingston would be a great place to live out the next four years. As my freshman year is coming to a close, I realized I very narrowly avoided the infamous freshman fifteen. With the amount of processed and deep-fried food around campus, it’s a wonder that the freshman class isn’t 300 pounds.
I call myself the gourmet princess because, as many know, princesses deserve the best. And when it comes to food, the best is what maintains and heals your body. In this blog I will attempt many recipes, but I am also determined to adopt as many recipes as I can and turn them into healthy renditions. I have concluded that everyone is a prince or princess and should treat their body like royalty.
Next year I will be living with six friends in a house on Princess Street (get it?). I’ve decided to call it the castle house as we are all princesses and deserve nothing less. I conveniently drew the longest straw and got the attic, which I will forever refer to as my tower. Many think that seven princesses in one house is a recipe for disaster; however, we are determined to prove them wrong.
Being in college myself, I understand the need for creativity at mea time. Most of these recipes are college friendly and ALL tried and true. I am dedicated to trying (and failing if I have to) many recipes, so that you can be assured that none of these recipes are out of your reach.
Hope you enjoy reading about my daily musings and obsession with food.
Sincerely,
The Gourmet Princess
P.S
I have found that life isn’t any fun with out cupcakes. So in the spirit of living life to the fullest, I am telling you ahead of time, I will cave to my biggest weakness, baking. If I don’t always follow my code of royal eating, please don’t hold it against me. Love always.
